Police say Shaun Krawiec has been caught in Toronto, he was found there on Thursday.

He was wanted for:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Discharging a firearm with intent to wound, endanger life or prevent arrest
  • Pointing a firearm (2 counts)
  • Possession of a loaded regulated firearm
  • Possession of a firearm, weapon or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order (2 counts)

At the time of his arrest, police say he had a gun, and was charged by Toronto police.  Once that was sorted out, police say he was sent to Niagara regional police, for the charges related to the shooting in Welland.

Update: May 10th

Police are looking for 28-year old Shaun Krawiec, they have not indicated where he is from.

They believe he is in the Hamilton area, however, his current whereabouts are not known.  Police add he is considered armed and dangerous, and if you see him, do not approach, but call 911 immediately.

He is wanted for: 

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound, Endanger Life or Prevent Arrest
  • 2 counts of Pointing a Firearm 
  • Possession of a Loaded Regulated Firearm
  • 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order 

Original Story:

Police are looking for a suspect after a man was shot this morning in Welland.

Officers were called at around 2, to reports of a shooting at a home in the Leaside and McCrae Drive area.

They found the man with injuries, who was sent to an out of region hospital, but his injuries have since been determined non-life threatening.

Police add the suspect got away before they arrived, and at this time, believe this was a targeted shooting.
