Police made the discovery in a St. Catharines home, after monitoring since last February
A number of child porn related charges have been laid against a 34-year old St. Catharines man.
Police say last February their Internet Child Exploitation Unit began looking into certain activity.
Earlier today, police, armed with a warrant, searched a St. Catharines home, and found a number of digital devices suspected to have been used in criminal activity.
They arrested William Genaro Argueta, and charged him with:
- Possession of Child Pornography X2
- Accessing Child Pornography
- Making Child Pornography Available
He remains in police custody, pending a bail hearing tomorrow in St. Catharines.
Police believe he went online using variations of the username "random b0y" such as "random.b0y" and "randomxb0y4".
Police also remind the public that criminals make and share Child Sexual Abuse Material, and engage with minors online, and it's prevalent.
