Police find $188,460 worth of crystal meth and fentanyl
Two people are facing drug charges after police raided homes in Welland and Thorold.
In January, police began an investigation into illegal mobile drug sales.
Two suspects and two homes in Welland and Thorold were identified.
Yesterday, officers searched the homes and a black 2020 Hyundai Sonata.
Before the searches, police tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.
The suspects tried to flee but they crashed into two police cruisers.
Nobody was injured, and damage to the NRPS vehicles is estimated at about $8,000.
Investigators say a home on Explorer Way in Thorold and a home on King Street in Welland were searched.
Police found about $188,460 worth of crystal meth and fentanyl, as well as a gun, 3 magazines, 150 rounds of ammunition and $3,300 cash.
Facing charges are 26 year old Michael Amo Mensah of Thorold and 29 year old Soheyla Amara Malik.
