Sandra MacKinnon says she plans to focus on homelessness and elder care if elected mayor of Niagara Falls.
A Niagara Falls mayoral candidate says she wants to see more protections for vulnerable people in the area.
We spoke to Sandra MacKinnon, who says she's concerned about homelessness in Niagara Falls.
"Homelessness is an issue not just to Niagara Falls, but everywhere. And I think if most people work together and got ideas from each other, that this can be rectified."
Another main priority she plans to focus on is support for the elderly.
"I think my first priority would be to protect elderly people in long term care."
MacKinnon also says she has lived in the community for nine years, and she has noticed a disconnect between council and residents.
She points to her experience as a social worker, saying that her skills in this field will come in handy if she's elected mayor.
