The union says this will secure hundreds of good paying jobs
Hundreds of good paying jobs are expected to be secured at the St. Catharines GM propulsion plant.
The union Unifor announced yesterday at the plant it is to become the first Detriot-Three facility in Canada to produce electric vehicle propulsion systems, as it moves forward in the industry's transition to EV manufacturing.
The work will be done for many vehicles on the plant's Ultium EV line.
This investment for St. Catharines follows a recent announcement for EV production at the Ingersol plant.
The union adds it also continues to push for rebuilding Canada's auto sector.
