Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff is calling it good news for Niagara’s growers, greenhouses and gardeners.
Starting tomorrow, garden centres and nurseries will fully re-open, and operate much like grocery stores and pharmacies.
Oosterhoff is encouraging everyone to support the industry and buy local flowers for Mother’s Day.
The flower industry brings in about $800-million in sales each year and Niagara is responsible for about 50 per cent of the province’s flower production.
Hardware stores and safety supply stores will re-open for in-store purchases on Saturday and non-essential retail stores with street access can offer curbside pick-up and delivery as of Monday.
