Those bug eyed cicadas are ready to see the light of day

Billions of new cicadas will begin emerging from the ground where they have been living for the past 17 years.

The Buffalo Museum of Science tells Channel 7 News if the warm weather keeps up the periodical cicada's will begin emerging pretty soon.

You may not see them but you will definitely hear them as they hang out in trees around our region.

And if you do spot one, you will know right away, the periodical cicada has red eyes and a black body.
