Fisheries and Oceans Canada has La Grande Hermine listed for sale on its buy and sell website
Yes it's the hard to miss 141 foot "La Grande Hermine" that you can see in the water when you travel the QEW.
The boat, built in 1965, has a storied history and was eventually bought by a businessman to be used as an interim casino in Niagara Falls.
He left it docked in Jordan Harbour awaiting approval but died before his plan was given the green light.
It has sat in the harbour for decades since,.and in the early 2000’s was heavily damaged in a suspicious fire.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada has listed it for sale on its buy and sell website and will accept bids until November 9th.
An earlier assessment of the wreck says it poses a "significant level of danger to the environment, as well as to the health, safety and well-being of the public"
