Provincial restrictions at the homes start easing today
Residents in long-term care home can begin to enjoy more social connections with their loved ones.
The province announcing it is lifting several restrictions effective today including allowing residents and visitors to share hugs.
Residents who are fully immunized can leave their long term cares home for day and overnight trips.
Seniors in the homes who have mobility limitations or health conditions that prevent them from going outdoors, may have one visitor at a time inside the home in addition to their essential caregiver.
And most importantly the province says regardless of resident and visitor vaccination status, brief hugs can now take place.
