Ontario's Opposition Leader says the Premier needs to take action in regards to a Niagara MPP's scheduled appearance at a pro-life event.
Sam Oosterhoff, Niagara West MPP and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education, is scheduled to speak at the "Gen Z: Challenging Abortion in Politics" event being put on tonight by the National Campus Life Network.
The group has come under fire for a Twitter post made last month comparing abortion to the Holocaust.
Earlier this week, Premier Doug Ford said that he would speak to Oosterhoff.
Horwath says that with Oosterhoff's appearance still on the schedule, it's a sign that the Premier has given the MPP the go-ahead to attend.
"It’s clear that Doug Ford has given his MPP the green light to attend an event that compares every woman’s right to choose to the horrors of the Holocaust. Doug Ford promised to take action, but instead of firing him from his Parliamentary Assistant role immediately, Doug seems to have given his approval."
