2021 is almost here, and with a new year comes new resolutions.
Josh Gomer, a personal training specialist at Goodlife Fitness in St. Catharines, says the key to keeping your health-related goals is having the right mindset.
"People need to switch their mindset away from 'it has to be the absolute best or nothing.' It's very common of people, if they can't do what's best, they just think it's not worth it and they want to do nothing, whereas it's the complete opposite."
Gomer says that having a support system and setting goals can go a long way to help keep you motivated.
He suggests recruiting friends and family to work out with you or hold you accountable, or getting a personal trainer, can help you stay on track.
Gomer also says you don't need a lot of equipment to work out at home, and you can do a lot with just your body weight and a chair or a backpack full of books.
