Health Canada says a certain type of Sunbeam brand heated blankets pose a fire risk
Health Canada has issued a recall for a Sunbeam brand heated blanket.
The recall impacts the Sunbeam Queen Size Heated Blanket model number 32810027.
They were sold with detachable controllers and in the colours ivory, beige, light green, light blue, dark blue, burgundy, dark gray, light gray and gray violet.
Over 18,000 blankets have been sold in Canada, and another 43,000 in the United States.
The agency says the blanket could overheat, causing a fire.
As of March 7th, the company has received seven reports of incidents in Canada and 13 in the United States.
There are no reports of injuries.
Consumers are advised to unplug and stop using the products.
