Course operator, Golf North is asking the province to reverse its decision to close courses.
President & CEO Shawn Evans has penned a lengthy letter to the Premier outlining why courses should remain open.
In a tweet, Evans notes 20 million rounds in Ontario last year resulted in no transmissions of COVID-19.
He adds, a year ago, when we were allowed to open, we believed that we could safely provide a slice of mental and physical relief from the pandemic and 12 months later, the industry proved that to be true.
Evans also pointing out Ontario is the only jurisdiction right now that has closed courses because of the pandemic.
He concludes adults need recreation as much as kids need playgrounds.
Golf North operates 33 golf courses in Ontario.
Meantime a change.org petition demanding the province reopen courses has over 26,000 signatures.
