Socialite sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse young girls.
Socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse underage girls.
Prosecutors said Epstein, who killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial, sexually abused hundreds of vulnerable young girls and couldn't have done so without the help of Maxwell.
Maxwell, who has denied being his accomplice, was convicted of sex trafficking in December.
The crimes occurred as the couple rubbed shoulders with some of the world's wealthiest and most famous individuals.
