The Niagara Region is one step closer to hiring it's next Chief Administrative Officer.
Regional Council appointed four of it's members to the CAO recruitment committee last night; Diana Huson, Rob Foster, Albert Witteveen and Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop.
They're going to be working very closely with Regional Chair Jim Bradley and an external executive search firm.
The new hiring process includes several recommendations from the Ontario Ombudsman, which include requiring all committee members to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Each committee member will also have to attend every candidate interview. If they miss even one interview, they will no longer be part of the committee.
The hiring process should take about four to six months.
