E.coli, algae detected at area beaches
If you plan to take the kids swimming today, there are a few local beaches you should avoid.
According to Niagara Region Public Health, E.coli has been detected at Nelles Beach in Grimsby, Centennial Cedar Bay Beach in Port Colborne and Sherkston Quarry Beach in Port Colborne.
Meanwhile, Waverly Beach in Fort Erie has been flagged due to algae.
Throughout the summer, Public Health tests the water at each of the region's beaches.
