Fort Erie Town Council is calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to keep the border closed to non-essential traffic.
They don’t think it should reopen until the flattening of the COVID-19 outbreak curve in the United States on par with the results we’re seeing in Ontario.
Mayor Wayne Redekop says the town values it’s seasonal residents and visitors for the U.S. but we need to remain diligent in dealing with this pandemic.
The Canada – U.S. border closed on March 20th and it’s currently scheduled to reopen on May 21st.
