Ford to Release Back to School Plan Next Week

Premier says he's "confident" the province will be ready for a return to school in September.

Premier Doug Ford says a back to school plan will be released early next week.

Ford made the remarks during a press conference in Thunder Bay.

"It's a very comprehensive plan," Ford said. "The minister is going to be coming out early next week and rolling out that plan."

The Premier notes the plan will include increased safety measures for staff and students, but didn't drop any hints about they could be.

His comments come after Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore told reporters yesterday that there would be a separate set of rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated kids.

Moore said fully immunized staff and students would face minimal interruptions if they came into contact with someone considered high-risk, but unvaccinated students would have to isolate for ten days and have at least two negative COVID-19 tests, one week apart.
