Premier Doug Ford has announced that Niagara will join the red zone, and lockdowns in Peel and Toronto will continue.
The lockdowns were set to expire on Monday.
The City of Hamilton will also be locked down.
The new restrictions for Niagara mean that there is a limit of five people for indoor gatherings, and 25 people for outdoor gatherings.
The Premier has faced increased pressure recently to toughen up restrictions in light of a recent surge in COVID-19 infection rates in the province.
There have been calls for him to take measures such as extending winter break for students and issuing a province-wide lockdown.
The province recorded 2290 cases today, and a record-setting 2432 cases on Thursday.
