Port Cares is teaming up with CAA to help seniors and people with disabilities along Niagara’s South Coast.
They are delivering hampers with seven days of non-perishable food to these vulnerable people in Port Colborne and Wainfleet who are low income, but unable to access regular foodbank service.
Registration is over the phone and individuals are screened for eligibility.
Port Cares Reach Out Centre Supervisor Amanda Upper says they get the hampers as a member of Feed Ontario.
It’s part of the provincial network’s effort to go above and beyond to help food banks during the pandemic.
CAA Niagara is dedicating a pool of volunteers to help deliver the hampers.
Those is need should call the Reach Out Centre at 905-835-1914 to see if they qualify for a hamper.
