St. Lawrence Seaway wants to rebuild 3 wharves, currently not in use
The Welland Canal is about to undergo some major upgrades.
Federal transport minister Omar Alghabra was in Port Colborne yesterday, announcing up to $22.7-million, part of an overall $45.3-million project by the St. Lawrence Seaway to rebuild three wharves at the Canal which are currently not in use.
The minister, along with MPs Chris Bittle, Vance Badaway and other dignitaries, say the work will help the system to improve trade.
The money is from the National Trade Corridors Fund.
