Millions of dollars to be spent between the federal government and Niagara region to support the homeless.
The two levels of government signed an agreement today, as part of the Unsheltered Homelessness and Encampments Initiative.
The feds will hand over in excess of $4.4-million to the Niagara region, which the region will match, for the next two years.
The money will support the region's Community Encampment Response Plan, with money to St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland.
The federal government adds it's also investing to help those at risk of becoming homeless, as well as more affordable housing.
