Sources say it's $13-billion, part of the partnership between the Liberal government and NDP
Looks like a $13-billion federal dental plan is coming.
That's according to government officials, who told the Canadian Press on a promise they're identity would be kept private.
They say it's part of the Liberal government's promise to the N-D-P as part of their supply and confidence agreement.
The insurance plan will be phased in gradually throughout 2024 -- with the first claims likely to be processed in May.
It will start by covering qualifying seniors over the age of 87.
Eligibility is set to expand over the course of the year to include all qualifying seniors over the age of 65 by May 2024, then children under the age of 18 and people with disabilities by June.
