The OPP is reporting a large increase in the amount of fatal collisions involving transport trucks.
Between January 1st and June 30th of this year, the OPP responded to 32 fatal crashes involving a transport truck, which is up from 23 at the same time last year.
So far this year, there are 2,956 crashes involving commercial vehicles on OPP-patrolled roads.
The OPP says the biggest factors in such collisions include following too closely, improper lane changes, speeding, and driver inattention.
Commercial trucks can weigh over 60,000 kg, posing a significant risk when traveling at high speeds.
