We're experiencing a cool start to the long weekend in Niagara.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Peter Kimbell says we can expect highs around 23 today and tomorrow but things should warm up closer to the end of the weekend.
"Summer time temperatures are not finished for the year. We will probably have a return to pleasant warm temperatures as early as Sunday and certainly by Monday and Tuesday with temperatures probably in the mid 20s."
Kimbell says the cooler weather is nothing unusual for this time of the year.
"The normal temperature this time of the year for a high would be 23 and that's what we're looking for today and likewise tomorrow, maybe even a bit cooler than that tomorrow. By Sunday we should bounce back up to 25 or 26 and likewise Monday with similar warm temperatures."
Kimbell says we could also be in for some rain and humid weather next week.
He adds we're not finished with the summer weather yet but we are starting to see a downward trend in temperatures.
