Parents with elementary children will be required to go online daily and fill out questionnaire for their kids
Beginning next week, staff and students with the DSBN will be required to self screen for COVID every day before going to school.
In a notice to parents, the board says the move has been recommended by the Ministry of Education and Niagara Public Health.
The additional layer in their screening process will begin Tuesday after the Thanksgiving long weekend
Each day parents will be required to go online to the board’s COVID screening page, login with their child’s DSBN username and answer a list of short questions, including does your child have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
Based on responses, parents will be advised whether or not their child can attend school.
The board says if the screener is not completed, a follow up email will be sent to parents reminding them to complete it at that time.
