DSBN expecting over 40,000 students next year.
The District School Board of Niagara has passed it's budget for the upcoming school year.
Trustees have approved a budget of over $546 million, which is $24 million higher than last year.
Budget highlights include over $68 million to support Special Education and the hiring of 70 teachers.
The board has also passed $2 million in mental health and well-being supports and more than $1.7 million to enhance Indigenous Education.
Student enrolment for the upcoming year is expected to be about 2.5 percent higher than last year.
This will bring the projected number of DSBN students to over 40,000.
