Niagara Health's Chief of Staff is encouraging everyone to stay home this holiday season.
Dr. Johan Viljoen says you could still be an asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19 even if you're feeling fine, and the only way to prevent the virus from spreading to your loved ones is to stay home and only celebrate with the people you live with.
He adds we need to slow the rate of infection in order to reduce the strain on our local healthcare system.
He's happy that the COVID-19 vaccine has arrived in Canada but adds that it could still be months before we start to see widespread inoculation.
