The NRP is investigating the cause of a weekend blaze in St. Catharines.
Around 4:35 on Saturday morning, emergency crews were called to a house located near Haight Street and Disher Street, in regards to a fire.
Upon arrival, officers noticed that the lower level of the house, as well as the entrance, were on fire.
A pet parrot was found dead as a result of the flames.
Detectives are expected to be at the scene for several days as they investigate the cause of the flames.
