CRTC Demanding Answers From Rogers Following Widespread Outage

CRTC asks Rogers for detailed explanation regarding national service outage.

The CRTC says it has ordered Rogers Communications to provide answers as to what caused Friday's massive network outage.

The agency has released a statement, saying Rogers has until July 22nd to respond to detailed questions and provide a full explanation as to what caused the outage.

Millions of Canadians were impacted, preventing access to 911 and critical infrastructure services.

"We take the safety, security, and wellness of Canadians very seriously and we are responsible for ensuring that Canadians have access at all times to a reliable and efficient communications system," reads a statement from the CRTC.

The CRTC says once Rogers has responded, it will examine what further steps need to be taken.
