Health Canada says counterfeit tests were sold online by a distributor called Healthful Plus.
Health Canada has issued a public warning after counterfeit COVID-19 rapid antigen tests were found in Ontario.
The agency says a distributor called Healthful Plus sold 25-pack boxes of kits online.
Health Canada says the company is not licensed to import, distribute or sell medical devices in Canada.
The packaging looks similar to authentic products by BTNX Inc., but has several differences.
These include Health Advance being listed as an "official Canadian distributor" and the words "Health Canada approved" on the box.
Health Canada says it hasn't assessed the safety of the kits.
Anyone who suspects they have a counterfeit kit should refrain from using it and contact Health Canada here.
