In response to overcrowding concerns and problematic behavior, the City of St. Catharines will temporarily institute capacity limits at its beaches.
Effective immediately, capacity limits will be in place at Sunset Beach and Lakeside Park Beach.
Security will be onsite to close beach access when capacity has been reached, and signage will be posted at entrances to let drivers know when no more visitors are being let in.
Visitors are also reminded that behaviors such as drinking, smoking/vaping, littering and barbecuing are prohibited, and visitors may be searched upon entry.
