Unemployment remains at five percent
Statistics Canada says the economy added 35,000 jobs last month.
The federal agency notes the biggest gains were made in areas such as transportation, business, building, finance and real estate.
Meanwhile, jobs were lost in construction and natural resources.
The unemployment rate remains at five percent.
The agency also says the average hourly wage rose by over five percent on an annual basis.
Experts say the Canadian economy is expected to slow this year.
