Canada Sending Additional Military Aid to Ukraine

Defense Minister Anita Anand announces almost $100 million in military aid for Ukraine.

The federal government has announced it is sending additional military aid to Ukraine.

Defense Minister Anita Anand says the country is sending 20,000 155mm artillery shells, which are compatible with the M-777 howitzers Canada has already donated to Ukraine.

Anand also notes the shells were purchased for the donation, and didn't come from Canada's stockpile.

The minister says the aid will provide "crucial" assistance to Ukraine as the Russian invasion continues.
