Two Western New York politicians want beefed up train service between the two cities
Niagara Falls, NY Mayor Robert Restaino and Congressman Brian Higgins are hoping to tap into President Joe Biden's $80 billion infrastructure funding proposal.
During a news conference yesterday, the two noting a more robust train schedule between the two regions would help boost the economy.
Right now there is only one train a day between the Big Apple and Toronto.
But they admit it would also take some improvements to rail iinfrastructure on the Canadian side.
Higgins says high level talks with Canadian officials are already underway.
