18 year old pleaded not guilty to charges
The man charged with carrying out a racist mass shooting in Buffalo that killed 10 people at a Tops Supermarket pleaded not guilty today to hate-motivated domestic terrorism and other charges as a prosecutor called the evidence against him overwhelming.
A lawyer entered the plea for 18 year old Payton Gendron who didn't speak during a brief hearing.
Gendron has been charged with Domestic Act of Terrorism Motivated by Hate in the First Degree, a new law in New York State (NYS).
This is the first time in the history of NYS where someone has been charged with this particular crime.
Gendron remains held without bail and returns to the courtroom July 7th.
