Buffalo Police trying to quash rumours there is a serial killer on the loose in the Queen City.
In a post on Facebook the force calls the rumour absolutely false
The fake news started on social media alleging a serial killer had murdered five women on the city's east side
It also said two minivans were involved and were snatching women up.
In at least two posts, the authors allege they were told by a co-worker who has an uncle who is a Buffalo police officer
