Bravo to Snow Plow Drivers: City

Niagara Falls city councillors passing along mostly praise from residents

It appears most people in Niagara Falls have been pleased with how well snow plow drivers did their job, including on sidewalks, over the last few days.

Councillor Lori Lococo brought this up last night, saying she's actually received quite a few complaints in residential areas, but some compliments, adding the city needs to review snow plowing policy.

Councillor Chris Dabrowski, was pleased.  "Residents did a phenomenal job on their sidewalks, as I drove around I thought they were plowed at a really good time.  I didn't hear any complaints, I only heard positive this time around."

Mayor Jim Diodati added it's normal to get more complaints than compliments.

Councillor Mike Strange also referred to the Snow Buddies program, done by schools.  "They're going to come to council, and try to help out with sidewalks, and help the elderly, and people with disabilities, to clear their driveways and sidewalks."

City staff add they're working on a new app that'll track where snow plows are, instead of phoning the city.
