Witches, goblins, ghosts and ghouls will hit the streets for Halloween tonight!
NRP Media Relations Officer Phil Gavin says it will be dark out there, so all trick-or-treators should have a flashlight.
"Be seen but also be able to see. What that means is basically you should have a costume that allows you to see what's going on so you don't have any trip hazards, you don't bump into things or other people."
Gavin says they should also be on the lookout for cars.
"Be safe around the traffic. Look both ways before you cross the street. Part of that is we encourage you to go down one side of the street; don't criss-cross back and forth."
Gavin adds you should never go into someone's house or car for candy. Just be polite and wait at the front door.
If the house has no lights on outside, the homeowner is probably out of candy or they may not be participating in Halloween.
Kids shouldn't eat their candy until they get home later. A parent or another adult should inspect it before they stuff their faces.
