Police still on hunt for a suspect.
At least six people have lost their lives after a shooting at an Independence Day parade in a Chicago suburb.
Police say 24 people were taken to hospital, though it's unclear if the dead are included in that number.
According to the Chicago Sun Times, the parade started around 10 a.m. local time, but came to a stop when shots were fired about ten minutes later.
Hundreds of parade-goers fled the area, leaving behind strollers, blankets and chairs.
Authorities say police are still on the hunt for a suspect.
