Mural pays tribute to park's namesake
There's another attraction to see at Marlene Stewart Streit Park in Pelham.
Art students from E.L. Crossley Secondary School teamed up to create a mural in honour of the park's namesake, who is considered one of the best female golfers in history.
Marlene Stewart Streit began playing golf competitively after being taught at Lookout Point Country Club in Pelham.
Streit attended the reveal by video conference today, and says she's touched by the honour.
"It is truly impressive to see what the students have accomplished with the support of their art teacher. Seeing the mural for the first time was a blast from the past!"
The Town of Pelham notes the students spent over 35 hours working on the project.
