Five puppies left in a box by the side of the road in Niagara Falls will be looking for new homes soon.
The black poodles, one male and four female were brought to Niagara Falls SPCA and Humane Society on Feb. 21 by someone who spotted them in a box near the corner of Montrose and Schisler roads.
In the box was a sticker which read DOB (date of birth) Jan. 6.
In addition to receiving food and warm shelter, they’ve been vaccinated and de-wormed.
Tyler Greer of the SPCA is dismayed the person who abandoned the puppies didn’t simply bring them to the humane society.
The five pups should be available for adoption by the end of the week.
Greer says they just want to make sure they’ve gone through all their staff protocols and ensure they’re in a healthy state for their forever home.
