Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
UNITED STATES - It has been 22 years since the deadliest terror attack on US soil.
Four commercial planes were hijacked by terrorists on September 11th, 2001. The first two crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the third crashed into the Pentagon. The fourth plane, which was en route to Washington DC, crashed in rural Pennsylvania after passengers took over the plane.
Close to 3,000 people were killed, including 343 first responders. Memorial services will be taking place across the country today, including the crash site locations.
US President Joe Biden will be attending a ceremony at a military base in Anchorage, Alaska.
