Police in Niagara continue to crack down on commercial vehicles intentionally bypassing the QEW inspection station in Vineland.

Yesterday, the NRP teamed up with Niagara Parks Police, Halton Regional Police, the Ministry of Transportation and the Town of Lincoln for a commercial vehicle safety blitz.

Over 150 passenger and commercial vehicles were sent to the station.

Eighty-two were inspected, 33 of which were removed from the highway after safety issues were spotted.

As well, three sets of license plated were seized, and 17 tickets were issued for various offences including: failing to conduct daily inspection logs, failing to ensure daily inspection logs are conducted properly, insecure commercial motor vehicle load, and failing to meet commercial motor vehicle performance standards.
