It comes from the Marotta family, following a tour of the hospital
A $15-million donation has been made to the St. Catharines hospital.
The Niagara Health Foundation and Niagara Health say the money is from the Marotta family, which will result in service and vital equipment upgrades.
Sisters Angela and Melissa were moved to make the donation after a tour of the hospital.
As a result of this gesture, the hospital will be renamed the Marotta Family Hospital.
Last April, the family donated $10-million to the It's Our Future campaign, for construction of the new South Niagara hospital.
The Marotta family has owned the Solmar Development Corporation for over 30 years, and as well, Angela and Melissa started Two Sisters Vineyards, and the soon-to-be-opened Stone Eagle Winery.
