Warming Centres Open in Niagara

Cold temperatures continue across Niagara.

With another day of frigid temperatures in the forecast, the city of Niagara Falls has opened two warming stations 

Those in need of a break from the cold can go to the Gale Centre or the Niagara Falls Public Library on Victoria Avenue between 10 am and 4pm. 

The city of Welland’s warming centre is located at the transit terminal on East Main.  

People in need can go there Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 8pm or Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm to get warm.  

Transit staff is asking people to wear face masks and practice social distancing. 

The city of St. Catharines has designated Market Square on King Street as the warming centre for 2021. 

It will be open Sunday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm. 

On Saturday’s the Silver Spire United Church on St. Paul St. is open from 10 am to 5pm providing hot meals, washrooms and showers.
