Two Youths Arrested Following Robbery in St. Catharines

Two teens facing charges after a convenience store in St. Catharines was robbed.

Niagara Regional Police have arrested two teenagers in connection to the robbery of a St. Catharines convenience store.

Just before 8:00 p.m. last night, officers were called to a store near Scott Street and Vine Street.

Two suspects entered the store, one with a knife, and the other had what was believed to be a firearm.

Before leaving the store on foot, the pair demanded money from the cashier.

The cashier wasn't injured.

The pair were spotted as officers arrived on the scene, and fled in different directions on foot.

One of the suspects was quickly arrested, while the other was found with the help of the Canine unit.

Investigators say the firearm was determined to be a replica pistol.

The 16 and 17 year old suspects cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, extension #1022200.
