Trudeau Says Everything is On the Table to End Protests and Blockades

Trudeau says they are concerned about violence and will not give specific details as to how and when this will end but promises it will end soon.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the media today to talk about the ongoing protests and blockades happening across the County.

Trudeau had a direct message for protesters.

"We've heard you. It's time to go home now. If you are still participating in illegal blockades, you are hurting your neighbours, it is time to go home, especially if you have kids with you."

Trudeau says everything is on the table to bring this situation to an end.

"So make no mistake the border cannot and will not remained closed. I want to remind everyone that politicians do not direct police in a democratic society but I can assure the RCMP is working with Provincial and local police departments to enforce the law. Everything is on the table because this unlawful activity has to end and it will end."

Trudeau says they are concerned about violence and will not give specific details as to how and when this will end. He issued a warning for protestors.

"If you joined the protests because you are tired of COVID, you know need to understand you are breaking the laws. The consequences are now becoming more and more severe. You do not want to end up losing your licence, end up with a criminal record, which will impact your job, your livelyhood, even your ability to travel internationally, including to the US."

The Prime Minister says they have not reached the point of calling in the military in response to the protests and that is not being seriously considered at this time.

He supports the Ontario Government in calling a State of Emergency saying it was the responsible thing to do.
