Funds will be put towards 24/7 access to library resources.

The Lincoln Pelham Public Library is getting some help from the province.

The Library has received a grant over $146,900 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation's Resilient Communities Fund.

The funds will be used to create 24/7 access to library materials, as well as renovations, new equipment and new technology like lending machines and self checkouts.

Officials say the technology will help reduce contact while increasing access to library resources.

"The Town of Pelham and the Lincoln Pelham Public Library is very fortunate to be able to have received this support to provide improved library services at the Pelham area branches. The addition of the RFID (radio frequency identification) technology initiative will continue to allow for increased library access for the community," said Lincoln Pelham Public Library, Director of Customer Experience, Amy Guilmette.
