The Zoo will come bird aviaries to the public after the avian flu was found at a farm in West Lincoln

The Toronto Zoo is closing its bird aviaries to the public after the bird flu was reported at a poultry farm in West Lincoln.

The Zoo says it's taking this precaution since the farm is within 200 kilometres of their location.

Starting today, the Zoo's walk-through bird aviaries in the pavilions will be closed to the public, and tours of animal food preparation and bird housing areas will be suspended.

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, avian flu was detected at the farm on Tuesday.
